Eleganti Eleganti Fully Fashioned stockings are made in England on original Reading flatbed knitting machines, which were renovated in 1994. These amazing machines are 17 metres long, weigh over 6 tonnes each and can produce only 30 stockings per hour.
The stockings are knitted flat in a shape to fit the leg closely and then seamed together by a machinist ending with the distinctive finishing loop on the welt. They are then dyed and matched for size. Each stocking is then put on a leg shaped metal board and steamed to eliminate creases and fix the size and shape. The production process from start to finish is extremely labour intensive and requires great skill in order to produce stockings of this high quality. These stockings will appear very long when taken from the packet. When pulled up the leg, length will be lost depending on the size of calf and thigh. They should be washed by hand in warm soapy water and positioned without creases whilst drying. The finished look is extremely elegant, and they will make you feel wonderful. Our model JP was really smitten with them during the photo shoot. We think she looked amazing! |
